Alphabet Inc. delivered robust second-quarter results on July 23, 2025, with YouTube advertising revenue reaching $9.8 billion, marking a 13% year-over-year increase that underscores the video platform's continued dominance in the digital advertising landscape.
The strong YouTube performance was a key driver behind Alphabet's impressive Q2 2025 results, which saw total consolidated revenues climb 14% to $96.4 billion, while net income surged 19% to $28.2 billion, translating to earnings per share of $2.31.
CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted YouTube's role in Alphabet's AI-driven strategy during the earnings call, noting that "AI is positively impacting every part of the business, driving strong momentum." The company's AI Overviews and AI Mode features are "performing well," according to Pichai, contributing to what he called "a standout quarter with robust growth across the company."
YouTube's strong performance was part of a broader success story for Google Services, which generated $82.5 billion in Q2 2025, up 12% year-over-year. Beyond YouTube ads, the segment includes revenues from Google Search, Google subscriptions, platforms, and devices.
The "subscriptions, platforms, and devices" division, which includes YouTube Premium and YouTube TV, generated $11.2 billion in Q2 2025, marking a significant increase from $9.3 billion in the same period last year.
