Previously, Narayanan was with Carat Media as regional strategy director and was based out of Singapore

Maxus Delhi has appointed V Narayanan as general manager (GM) in Delhi. He will share the responsibility with Mausumi Kar, who currently heads the Delhi office as GM.

In an official communiqué, Ajit Varghese, managing director, Maxus, says, "Over the last two years, Maxus Delhi has been growing fast, with billings over Rs 800 crore; and has won new businesses in 2010, such as ICI Paints and MaxBupa. This calls for bringing more focus into existing client business; and therefore Narayanan's appointment."

The latest development also comes in the wake of Kar being given the additional responsibility of heading the Kolkata office. Maxus Kolkata recently won the Mcnroe business (planning) and also handles Vodafone, amongst other clients.

On joining, Maxus, Narayanan, says, "Maxus is definitely a promising agency with excellent new business vitality, fascinating set of clients, passionate teamwork making it India's top three agency."

He also opines that his last assignment in Singapore helped him build strong digital expertise.

Commenting on Narayanan's mandate, Varghese adds, "Narayanan will be responsible for new business as well. But his current focus will be to establish our latest offering Maxus Product - Relationship Media - to existing clients."

Narayanan, who has moved to Maxus from Carat Singapore, comes on-board with 15 years of industry experience. He was GM at Carat and has spent around seven years at the agency. Before he took over as GM for Carat Singapore, Narayanan was regional strategy director.

In Singapore, he handled various businesses including Nokia, ANZ and RBS, and was also responsible for new business. With over 15 years of experience in media planning, Narayanan has worked with Initiative Media, Leo Burnett Media (now Starcom). He has worked on businesses such as P&G, Coke, J&J and Unilever.
