GEC Watch: SAB's Tarak Mehta in top 10

SAB's fiction show, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma beat Jhansi Ki Rani on Zee, garnering a TVR of 4.3

The latest GEC report from TAM Media Research places STAR Plus at No. 1. In Week 32, the channel has grabbed 24 per cent relative share (C&S, 4+, HSM). Colors is at No. 2 and has seen a slight rise in share to 21 per cent.

The GRPs garnered by the two are 338 and 306, respectively. The premiere of the film, Raavan on Colors garnered a TVR of 2.3.

Zee is back at No. 3 in Week 32, and its relative share has increased from 16 per cent in Week 31 to 18 per cent in the latest week. Sony, at No. 4, has seen a steep decline in GRPs, from 270 to 181. The channel's relative share stands at 13 per cent, which is 5 percentage points less than last week.

SAB has seen a jump in GRPs from 89 to 119. Its share stands at 8 per cent. The fiction series, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma has done well in Week 32. The show is at No. 8 in the top 10 list, recording a TVR of 4.3.

At No. 6, Imagine has garnered a relative share of 6 per cent; it is followed by STAR One, which has garnered a 4 per cent share. Sahara One and DD1 have garnered a 2 per cent share each; while STAR Utsav has 1 per cent.

The leap in the storyline of Balika Vadhu has brought about a leap in the TVR as well. It is the most watched show in the Hindi GEC genre in Week 32, garnering a TVR of 6.9. Pavitra Rishta on Zee is at No. 2, recording a TVR of 5.8. It is followed by Uttaran on Colors, which recorded a TVR of 5.7. Dance India Dance Li'l Masters on Zee and Pratigya on STAR Plus have garnered TVRs of 5.4 and 5.2, respectively.

The other shows in the top 10 are: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Na Aana Is Des Laado, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma, Laagi Tujhse Lagan and Jhansi Ki Rani.
