With Bigg Boss in its kitty, Colors gets back its No. 2 spot

Bigg Boss opened with a peak rating of 4.3 TVR. It was the third-most watched programme in the week across the Hindi GEC pie, with its weekly TVR at 4.25.

Colors, the flagship Hindi GEC from the Viacom18 stable, has walked up the GRP ladder once again to regain its lost spot.

According to TAM (C&S 4+, HSM), the channel has scored 255 GRPs for the week ended October 8, 2011, up from the 205 GRPs that it had garnered in the previous week.Its relative share has also moved up from 16.5 per cent to 20.4 per cent.

The win cameriding on the back of the latest season of Bigg Boss, which opened with a peak rating of 4.3 TVR. For the week, it was the third-most watched programme across the Hindi GEC pie, with its weekly TVR standing at 4.25.

The previous season, hosted by Salman Khan, had opened with a peak TVR of 4.7, while Season 3 with Amitabh Bachchan, opened with a 4.6 TVR.

For the record, Bigg Boss 5 started on October 2, at 8 pm, while subsequent episodes were aired from Monday to Friday at 10.30 pm, and Saturday to Sunday at 10 pm on the channel.

Meanwhile, the other shows that have helped the channel add extra numbers to its kitty are Balika Vadhu, the second-most watched programme for the week with 4.4 TVR, and Uttaran, standing seventh in the rank with 3.64 TVR.

Sony Entertainment Television, meanwhile, has dropped to the third spot, despite running an almost stable GRP grade in Week 41. The channel witnessed a one-point drop in its scorecard, to end the week with 248 points. Its relative share also dropped from 20.1 per cent, to 19.8 per cent.

Star Plus, on the other hand, continues to lead the flock with 304 GRPs, a two-point downfall from the 306 GRPs that it had garnered in Week 40. Its relative share is at 24.3 per cent, down from 24.7 per cent.

At No. 4, Zee TV has fallen from157 GRPs to 142 GRPs, while its relative share has dipped from 12.7 per cent to 11.4 per cent.

Sab TV, at No.5, has taken a dip as well, both in its GRPs and channel share. While its GRPs stand at 121 points (126 points in the previous week), its relative share is 9.7 per cent (10.1 per cent in the previous week).

At No. 6, Imagine TV is at 66 GRPs, down from 75 GRPs. Its relative share is also down from 6 per cent to 5.3 per cent.

Sahara One, with 34 GRPs and a channel share of 2.7 per cent, follows it.

STAR One is at No. 8. The channel's relative share has dipped to 2.6 per cent from 2.7 per cent, while its GRPs remain stable at 33 points.

STAR Utsav and DD1 have garnered relative shares of 2.2 per cent and 1.3 per cent, respectively.

Saathiya Saath Nibhana (Star Plus) leads the list of the 10 most-watched programmes, clocking a TVR of 5.21, followed by Balika Vadhu (Colors) and Bigg Boss 5 (Colors), with TVRs of 4.4 and 4.25, respectively.

The fourth most-watched programme is Kaun Banega Crorepati, with 4.23 TVR. Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (4.11 TVR) and C.I.D. (4.03 TVR) follow next.

Uttaran, Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Crime Patrol, and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai are also a part of the Top 10 list.
