Suresh Selvaraj calls it quits at Outlook Group
Suresh Selvaraj, president, Outlook Group, has decided to put in his papers. He will continue to be associated with the company, though, until the end of December, 2011. This will be followed by a sabbatical for a few months, before he decides his next course of action. "I look forward to the sabbatical as I can fulfil my dreams -- biking in Srinagar-Leh Ladakh-Manali region, cycling in the Munnar hills, exploring Borneo rainforests in the Sabah region of Malaysia, and go on a cruise on the Venice-Greece-Spain route," says Selvaraj.

Selvaraj, who has been associated with the group since 1998, says, "Outlook has always been my pride, and Marie Claire, my passion. It's not easy for me to let go of both. These magazines are a part of my system, and I have always felt a sense of ownership with these magazines, especially with Marie Claire -- it is my baby. But, I am not naïve to believe that I am indispensable. The Outlook Group is very strong, with sufficient bench strength to face any situation."

Selvaraj, who did his MBA from the Loyola Institute of Business Administration, was promoted from the position of vice-president in 2008, and was given charge of Outlook, Outlook Saptahik, and Marie Claire.
