Lakshminarayan, who confirms the development to afaqs!, says, "My last day in this company is not yet decided, and I am yet to finalise my next destination."

Prior to joining FoodFood, Lakshminarayan was with Colors, the flagship Hindi general entertainment channel from the Viacom18 stable, for two years. But, in between, he had two shorts stints with Fremantle Media and Sahara One. While he was head of commercial and business development for Fremantle Media's India operations, where he spent an approximate six months, he was with Sahara One for about three months where he was head of marketing (India), and head of international business (US, UK and Canada).

Lakshminarayan started his career as a media planner at Stratagem Media and later moved to Leo Burnett (then known as Chaitra Leo Burnett) as media manager.

He was then appointed the vice-president for Initiative Media, but soon moved to Madison Media Communications where he spent eight years as associate media director. With time, he moved up the ladder to become the chief operating officer for Madison Media Infinity (MMI). At MMI, the clients on which he worked included Cadbury, Marico, Godrej, McDonald's, Axis Bank, Bharti AXA insurance, and Asian Paints. He handled media planning, buying, and servicing.

MMI was followed by Colors. He joined the channel as head of business planning and strategy in March 2008, and was part of the launch team.
