GEC Watch: Sony remains stable at No. 2

Star Plus continues to maintain its top spot in Week 51, despite a 30-point drop over the previous week, to garner 330 GRPs for the week ended December 17, 2011.

According to the latest data from TAM (C&S 4+, HSM), Star Plus continues to maintain its top spot in Week 51, despite a 30-point drop over the previous week, to garner 330 GRPs for the week ended December 17, 2011.

The channel's relative share, too, has witnessed a minor fall -- from 26.6 per cent in Week 50, to 25.4 per cent in Week 51.

Sony continues to be in the No. 2 slot with a further improved GRP grade, as well as an improved channel share in its pocket. While its GRPs have moved up from 228 points to 246 points, its channel share has moved up from 17.3 per cent to 18.9 per cent.

Colors, at No. 3, has garnered 221 points for the week, and is down from the 225 points that it had earned in the previous week. Its relative share, too, has dipped from 17.1 per cent, to 17 per cent.

Zee TV, which continues to be at No. 4, has moved up from 152 GRPs to 155 GRPs, while its relative share has moved up from 11.5 per cent, to 11.9 per cent.

The rest of the rankings remain more or less the same as the previous week. SAB TV is at No. 5, with a share of 9.3 per cent (8.9 per cent in the previous week). Its GRPs have moved up from 117 to 121.

Imagine TV is at No. 6, with a share of 5.5 per cent (5.8 per cent in the previous week), and a GRP of 71 points, down from 77 points.

Sahara One is at No. 7 with a share of 3.5 per cent, as compared to 3.1 per cent in the previous week; it has garnered 45 GRPs as opposed to 41 in Week 50.

STAR One (now called Life OK) is at No. 8, with a 3.4 per cent channel share, as compared to 3.1 per cent in the previous week. Its GRP stands at 44, up from 40 GRPs that it had garnered in the previous week.

DD1 is at No. 9 with 2.6 per cent share, as compared to 3.9 per cent in Week 50, while its GRPs have fallen from 52 to 34, this week.

STAR Utsav, with 2.2 per cent share (2.3 per cent in the previous week), and 28 GRPs (31 points in the previous week) is at No. 10.

Zee Smile follows next with 3 GRPs, and 0.2 per cent channel share.

Saathiya Saath Nibhana (Star Plus) leads the list of the 10 most-watched programmes, clocking a TVR of 7.1, followed by Diya Aur Baati Hum and Balika Vadhu, with TVRs of 5.87 and 5.33, respectively.

The fourth most-watched programme is Is Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, with 5.06 TVR.

C.I.D. (5.03 TVR), and Crime Patrol (4.32 TVR) follow next. Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur are also a part of the Top 10 list.
