ACK-Media (Amar Chitra Katha) has promoted Manas Mohan as the chief operating officer (COO). Prior to the promotion, Mohan was head, direct to customer (D2C).

In his expanded role, he will oversee the direct marketing and e-commerce business. He will also head the National Geographic business, as well as the advertising sales and strategic leadership of the brand.

Speaking about his new role, Mohan, says, "Following the partnership with the Future Group a year ago, we have put together the blue print of the company and operate the company as per plan. We will develop more proprietary characters like Suppandi. We will also develop the advertising sales part of the business, which will be one of the critical developments in the coming years."

Mohan adds that ACK-Media plans to introduce foreign magazines as publishing partners. "We are looking for tie-ups across the globe," he says.

Mohan, a graduate from ISB, Hyderabad, completed his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, in 1995. The same year he joined Solutions Integrated Marketing Services as marketing manager, databases. In 1997, he moved to Discovery Channel India as associate director, marketing. In 2000, Mohan moved to Webdunia.com as vice-president, marketing.

In 2001, he shifted to Lintas Direct/Lowe Personal, as vice-president. Then in 2003, he joined Wunderman India as vice-president and branch head. After three years, in 2006, Mohan moved to Readers Digest BHE India, as director and head, marketing, before joining ACK-Media in 2010.
