Dainik Bhaskar adds a printing centre in Raigarh

The new printing facility will enable the Hindi daily to cater to three districts in Chhattisgarh, including Raigarh, Jashpur and Janjgir-Champa.

Dainik Bhaskar has set up a new printing facility in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The facility will be functional from February 19 and will cater to three districts of the state including Raigarh, Jashpur and Janjgir-Champa.

This development makes Dainik Bhaskar the first national daily to be printed from Raigarh. The printing centre will service the three districts with approximately 25,000 copies. The cover price of the daily will remain unchanged at Rs 3.

The new printing setup will enable the Hindi daily to service the three districts better as there will be more emphasis on local news coverage of Raigarh, Jashpur and Janjgir-Champa areas, says the company official.

Alok Purohit, COO, MPCG and Gujarat, Dainik Bhaskar, says, "The readers will get the late night news as the newspaper will now go to bed late. This reader delight of more local news and latest news will further help the group consolidate our hold in the region." Raigarh has a total population of about 15 lakh and its literacy rate is 73.7 per cent, as per Census 2011.

Dainik Bhaskar already has editions in Raipur, Bilaspur, Bhilai and Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh.

For the record, Dainik Bhaskar was started in 1958 from Madhya Pradesh. The flagship Hindi daily of DB Corp now has 36 editions across 11 states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Chandigarh.
