Lately, Zee TV has gradually increased its GRPs and given a tough fight to its close competitor, Colors. It has displaced Colors from the third position for the second time in the last one month. However, as per TAM data, DD1, too, has climbed up by two ranks on the back of Asia Cup 2012, especially Sachin's hundredth century in India Vs Bangladesh match, which registered 1.56 TVRs.
Though there has been a lot of shuffling in the top rankings of Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) in Week 11 of 2012/03, STAR's general entertainment channel (GEC) Star Plus continues to rule the roost.
At No. 1, the channel has gained 16 GRPs to garner 287 GRPs in the current week, against 263 GRPs gathered last week (Week 10). The relative share of the channel has gone up from 19.8 per cent to 21 per cent.
Stable at No. 2, MSM's Sony registered 218 GRPs, down from 231 GRPs of the previous week. Its channel share, too, dropped from 17.4 per cent to 15.9 per cent.
Grabbing the No. 3 position in the top GECs list, Zee TV has achieved 217 GRPs, up from last week's 212 GRPs. However, the relative channel share remains stable at 15.9 per cent.
Though Viacom 18's Colors has dropped its ratings marginally by one point, garnering 214 GRPs in Week 11 of 2012/03, the channel has slipped down to the No. 4 position. The relative share of the channel has seen a substantial fall from 16.2 per cent to 15.7 per cent.
At No. 5, Sony Entertainment Television's sibling channel, SAB, has acquired 129 GRPs, falling from 136 GRPs of the previous week (Week 10). Its relative share, too, has come down from 10.2 per cent to 9.4 per cent.
Life Ok, at No. 6, has gained 84 GRPs, marginally down from last week's 85 GRPs. Its relative share has also decreased from 6.4 per cent to 6.1 per cent.
At No. 7, Imagine TV has registered 63 GRPs, up from 62 GRPs garnered last week. However, the channel has maintained its relative share at 4.6 per cent.
Up at No. 8, DD1 has almost doubled its ratings by garnering 58 GRPs, up from last week's 31 GRPs. The relative share of the channel has seen a rise of 2 percentage points, from 2.3 per cent to 4.3 per cent in the current week ending March 17.
At No. 9, STAR Utsav has gained 47 GRPs, up from 43 GRPs of the previous week. Its channel share, too, has grown from 3.2 per cent to 3.4 per cent.
Sahara One and Zee Smile are positioned at No. 10 and No. 11, with 43 and 7 GRPs, respectively. Sahara One's lost two points while Zee Smile is stable at the previous week's ratings.
Diya Aur Baati Hum (Star Plus) leads the list of the 10 most-watched programmes, clocking a TVR of 5.56, followed by last week's top ranker, CID, with 4.80 TVRs.
Sony's Crime Patrol, too, has slipped to the third position, clocking 4.67 TVRs. Next in the list are STAR's Saathiya Saath Nibhana (4.66 TVRs), Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (4.1 TVRs) and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (4.07 TVRs) at the fourth, fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
Zee's Pavitra Rishta follows at No. 7 with 3.8 TVRs. Color's Uttaran and Balika Vadhu have garnered TVRs of 3.78 and 3.74, respectively. Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai is also a part of the list with 3.66 TVRs.
