India TV appoints Gulab Makhija as CFO

Meanwhile, the channel has also made other key appointments as part of its overall growth strategy.

India TV, the Rajat Sharma-promoted company, has roped in Gulab Makhija as chief financial officer. Prior to this, Makhija was CFO, TV Today Network.

As a part of his new mandate, Makhija will be responsible for financial management and control systems in the growth plan of India TV.

Meanwhile, the channel has also made other key appointments as part of its overall growth strategy. It has appointed Shubhra Manasi (of TV Today) to look after strategic planning and research functions as deputy general manager. Pradeep Khatri (earlier manager, marketing at TV Today) has come on board as chief manager, marketing. Here, he will be responsible for marketing communication, sales support and sponsorship marketing functions for the channel.

India TV has also roped in Rohit Lal as vice-president, programming. Earlier, Lal has worked on the programming of channels such as Zee News, IBN and STAR News.

Prashant Sharda, who was earlier with Nokia, has come on board as vice-president, digital media. He will look after mobile, 3G and streaming, and India TV's website, while working towards digital convergence for the company.

Ritu Dhawan, CEO and managing director, India TV, says in an official communiqué, "We are happy to induct new team leaders and expect that their proven track records will add strength to the existing strong team. Together, we look forward to further consolidate our leadership position in the Hindi news genre and set new benchmarks in the domain."
