Media consultancy firm Chrome Data Analytics & Media has appointed Kanayya Shetty as vice-president, distribution strategy and business operations. He was heading the operations team at Turner General Entertainment.

Shetty's mandate at the consultancy will be to spearhead the customised research initiatives which have come to be identified as Chrome's proprietary niche.

Confirming the news to afaqs!, Pankaj Krishna, founder and CEO, Chrome Data Analytics & Media, says, "Getting Kanny on board will help us develop many more exciting and much needed research tools. His understanding of distribution from a channel perspective and Chrome's huge network will add to the creation of relevant products to further enhance Chrome's value proposition in the ever-challenging distribution analytics environment."

Shetty, who has more than 16 years of experience in the broadcast media, will report to Jeffrey Crasto, executive director, Chrome Data Analytics & Media. Commenting on the appointment, Crasto says, "It is a great pleasure to announce that Kanny is joining Chrome. With his in-depth knowledge and expertise across distribution and marketing, he will add immense value to Chrome."

Shetty started his career in August 1996 with STAR India and has varied experience spanning a host of functional areas, from channel management, marketing sales and product management to managing businesses across geographies.

For the record, founded in 2008 by a team of industry professionals and committed to distribution monitoring, distribution analytics and distribution strategy, Chrome Data Analytics & Media has six proprietary distribution tools to its credit, which are being used by more than 125 channels.
