GEC Watch: Star Plus back at the top; Zee TV slips by two positions

As the effect of the DID L'il Masters Finale fizzles out, Zee TV has slipped to No. 3, losing 46 GRPs from last week.

The two general entertainment channels of STAR India, Star Plus and Life OK, are back to their positions in the GEC list (No. 1 and No. 6, respectively). This week, Star Plus, one of the top rung GECs, has reclaimed the first position by adding 10 extra points to garner 265 GRPs (up from last week's 255 GRPs).

Its sibling channel Life OK has also regained its position and is back at No. 6 after two weeks' gap; it had replaced SAB TV in Week 32. In Week 34 (current week), the channel's ratings have decreased from 134 GRPs to 125 GRPs.

Meanwhile, Colors, too, has climbed to the second spot, garnering 258 GRPs, up from last week's 238 GRPs, on the back of its dance reality show, Jhalakk Dikhla Ja. At the same time, the twists and turns in its flagship fiction property, Balika Vadhu, too, is clocking high TVRs.

With DID L'il Masters Finale ending the season of the dance reality show, Zee TV slipped to the No. 3 position, losing 46 GRPs from last week. The channel has garnered 237 GRPs in the current week.

At No. 4, Sony has achieved 211 GRPs, down from last week's 214 GRPs.

Last in the list comes Sahara One, which has garnered 37 GRPs, up from last week's 35 GRPs.

Star Plus leads the Top 10 list of programmes on Hindi GECs with four entries. While Sony and Colors have two entries each in the list, Zee TV and SAB TV have one entry each.

Diya Aur Baati Hum (Star Plus) leads the list of the 10 most-watched programmes, clocking a TVR of 6.7 (5.6 TVRs in last week), followed by a special combined episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Diya Aur Baati Hum which garnered 6.6 TVRs. It was telecast on August 24.
