Obituary: Rajendra Dwivedi of Starcom is no more

Dwivedi met with an accident in Mumbai on September 30.

Rajendra Dwivedi, vice-president, Starcom MediaVest Group India, the popular good-natured jolly man is no more. What can be called a tragic end of a young man full of energy, Dwivedi met with a road accident in Mumbai on September 30.

Remembering him fondly, Tarun Nigam, executive director, North, Starcom MediaVest Group, says, "It is a big loss for our company. We never imagined that Rajendra will meet such a tragic and untimely end. He was a very passionate guy and was a real asset to our company. We at Starcom will really miss him."

At Starcom, his mandate was to look after the agency's businesses, apart from consolidating and acquiring new ones. Dwivedi was also a part of the National Leadership Team at Starcom MediaVest Group India.

Dwivedi is an alumnus of Gujarat University and has more than a decade's experience in the media industry. He started his career with Mudra (now DDB Mudra Group) as senior media planning executive in 2000. In 2003, he moved Lodestar UM (earlier known as Universal McCann) as media controller, manager. Later, in 2005, he joined GroupM as business director.

He moved to SureWaves in 2007 as group business manager. After a brief period of one year, he switched to GroupM as client leader, new business development. In 2011, he was promoted as general manager before moving to Starcom as vice-president.
