Star Plus shares No. 1 spot with Colors and Sony during Weeks 41-50

Though Colors was able to gain the No. 1 spot in three of the four trailing weeks during this time on the back of its big ticket property Bigg Boss Season 6, Star Plus managed to grip the top position for five out of the 10 weeks.

After an interval of about 10 weeks, the much-awaited TAM data for viewership figures is now available. The weekly data, deferred for nine weeks due to the implementation of Phase 1 of digitisation across the four metros, was withheld from Week 41 (measuring the viewership patterns from September 30 to October 6) till Week 49 (December 2-8). The viewership measurement firm had announced that this data would be released along with the Week 50 (December 9-15) data on December 19.

However, acting on a request from the I&B Ministry, the data was delayed by another few days, and was finally released on Monday, December 24. However, it doesn't include the ratings for the news genre.

It must be noted that there has been a marginal reduction in the universe for the TAM analysis. Also, the data for the Hindi GECs is calculated on TG C&S 4+, HSM, where C&S also includes the homes with digitised cable connections.
