Tata Sky's K V Anand joins Hathway

K V Anand, erstwhile chief service officer, Tata Sky has recently joined Hathway Cable and Datacom as president, digital platforms. He will be involved in strategy, design, execution and delivery across all the customer-facing functions relating to CRM (customer relationship management), products/services management, billing and subscriber management, consumer marketing, field services and IT.

While Anand was not available for comments, Jagdish Kumar MD and CE0, Hathway, in an official communiqué mentions the transition of the company from a wholesale business to a retail consumer business. He adds that apart from his core responsibilities, "Anand will leverage our infrastructure across cable and broadband platforms to introduce new products, services and enhance customer experience as we begin our journey to be a customer centric organisation."

Anand has close to 20 years of experience in the broadcast and TV distribution industry. He started his career with a non-media company in 1993. He entered the industry in 1995 with STAR TV Middle East in Dubai as manager - operations, projects and business analysis. He stayed there for five years before moving on to Hong Kong as vice-president, customer relationship management at the STAR Group.

Finally, after a year, he moved back to India as senior vice-president, operations at STAR India in 2001. He then shifted to join Indya.com as director and stayed there from 2003 to 2006. Anand moved to Tata Sky in 2006 as chief customer operations officer and was promoted as chief services officer in 2011.
