Ashu Phakey joins HT Media as head, circulation for HT and Mint
He moves in from Dainik Bhaskar, where he was COO for Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana.
HT Media has roped in Ashu Phakey as head, circulation for Hindustan Times and Mint. According to sources close to the development, he assumed his new role today. It's a newly created position.
Earlier, Phakey was associated with Dainik Bhaskar group as chief operating officer for its Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana operations. He was responsible for establishing the Dainik Bhaskar brand across verticals including circulation and ad sales. He reported to Sudhir Agrawal, managing director, Dainik Bhaskar, who is based in Bhopal.
Phakey has 20 years of experience in sales and marketing and has worked with Subhiksha Trading Services, where he was the president, Delhi & NCR from October 2005 to 2009. He also worked with FMCG companies including ConAgra Foods, Nestlé, Frito Lay India and Wimco.
Phakey holds a bachelor's degree in commerce and a Masters degree in business administration from Punjab University.
