Viacom18 appoints Saugato Bhowmik as head, consumer products business

Bhowmik has more than 12 years of experience across various home and personal care businesses based in India and Singapore. His experience spans FMCG brands with understanding across the distribution landscape in India, dealing with large retailers and managing business P&L.

In his last stint, he was with Unilever and was leading the sales strategy development for the general trade business of the company across all key markets. He has also been associated with Dabur India during the start of his career.

Talking about his new role, he says, "I am thoroughly excited about my new role with the Viacom18 Group. The dynamic nature of the broadcast industry presents multiple opportunities for marketers to leverage the power of our brands across multiple consumer touch points, and I hope to apply my experience and contribute to the rapid growth of the consumer products business at Viacom18."

A graduate in Economics from Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University, Bhowmik completed MBA with a specialisation in marketing from IMT, Ghaziabad in 2002.
