Hindustan launches Ranchi live supplement
With an aim to strengthen its Ranchi edition, Hindi daily Hindustan has launched a six-page free supplement titled 'Ranchi Live' on September 19. It will be distributed separately with the main edition throughout the week.

The supplement will include classifieds, content on entertainment, community, careers, information for the students, campus, culture, sections for women and other local news. It will not focus on hard news.

"This edition will cater to the young audiences along with the women. We want to cultivate a reading habit among the readers and reach out to them every day with something or the other of their interest," says an official communication from the newspaper.

It further adds that Hindustan is the first among the Hindi dailies to be distributed in a two-book format. Others have supplements but they are mostly merged in the paper itself. Ranchi Live will add value both, for readers as well as advertisers.

The Hindi daily has put up 14 billboards in Ranchi to promote Ranchi Live. The Ranchi edition of Hindustan has 18 pages and is priced at Rs 3 on weekdays and Rs 4 during weekends.

A month ago, Hindustan also launched a supplement in Lucknow.

The Hindi daily has 19 editions across the Hindi belt, in Delhi, Patna, Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Meerut, Agra and Kanpur, Allahabad, Dehradun, Bareilly, Aligarh, Haldwani, Gorakhpur and Moradabad. It was launched in 1936.
