Farhad Wadia quits Network18

Wadia has quit the media industry and joined Capricorn Group, a real estate company, as head of business.

Farhad Wadia, who was heading E18, the event management division of Network18, has quit the company. Wadia was with the division for nearly seven years. He has now joined Capricorn Group, which has been in the real estate domain since 1987 and has residential and hospitability projects along with land bank. Wadia has joined the company as senior vice-president, marketing and sales.

Confirming the news, Wadia says that after spending so many years in media, it was time to move to the client side. After working with Network18, Wadia says, he didn't have many options in media industry, as he had already worked with HT Media and broadcast channel, Channel 4 Networks, in the UAE.

In his new role, Wadia will run the overall business of the company in India, UAE and UK.

Wadia has spent 28 years in the media and entertainment industry and has vast experience in managing radio, TV, print and brand solutions businesses in India and the UAE. Some of the companies he has worked with include HT Media, Channel 4 Networks, Power Productions and Radio Star India. He has also tried his hand in entrepreneurship in the initial phase of his career. Besides this, Wadia has been involved in the Independence Rock Festival, which has been organised annually on Independence Day in Mumbai for the last 27 years.
