As per TAM data (HSM, C&S, 4+), the STAR India flagship channel grossed 748000 GVTs, as compared to 702000 GVTs in the previous week. Almost all the shows of the channel saw improvement in their viewership. Nine of its shows made it to the top 10 shows' list with two shows sharing a spot with fictions of competing channels.

At No. 2 was Zee TV with 464000 GVTs (last week 426000 GVTs). The channel pushed two of its shows to the top shows' list.

Colors garnered 451000 GVTs (last week 454000 GVTs) in the week ended April, 12. Both the non-fiction properties of the Viacom18 channel - Comedy Nights with Kapil and Khatron Ke Khiladi - featured in the top shows' chart.

Life OK, the second GEC from STAR, clocked 376000 GVTs (last week 385000) as Multi Screen Media's second channel, SAB TV, closed the week with 314000 GVTs (last week 299000 GVTs). SAB's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah continued to be one of the most watched shows in the genre.

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) ended the week with 308000 GVTs (last week 312000 GVTs).

Star Plus' Diyaa Aur Baati Hum continued to be the most watched show on Hindi GECs with an average of 13400 TVTs. This was followed by Zee TV's Jodha Akbar that fetched 10700 TVTs and Star Plus' Saathiya Saath Nibhana with the same numbers.

At No. 3, Comedy Nights with Kapil rated an average of 9100 TVTs. The show had hosted Amitabh Bachchan (his second episode on the show) on April 6 as India TV's Rajat Sharma set up his 'Adaalat' (Sharma hosts Aap Ki Adaalat on India TV) on the show on April 12.

The fourth spot was occupied by Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah with 7900 TVTs.

Star Plus' Veera and Saraswatichandra took the next two spots with 6700 TVTs and 6600 TVTs, respectively.

At No.7 were Colors' Khatron Ke Khiladi and Zee TV's Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se that recorded an average of 6000 TVTs. Next came Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard that registered 5800 TVTs.

The next two shows were again from the leading channel - Yeh Hai Mohabbatein with 5600 TVTs and Meri Bhabhi with 5400 TVTs.

For the record, the figures mentioned are approximate TVT figures. TVT is television viewership in 1000s (TVR in 1000). It is the average number of Individuals in '000s that are available at any given minute of a programme/day part that is under consideration. It captures growth in TV audiences in the country in absolute numbers. The TVR system, in contrast, works on percentages.
