The contest requires participants to submit a short film of five minutes, based on a theme that resonates with the upcoming film on Mary Kom. The details for the contests can be found on
. The initiative can also be visited at
and @Cineshorts.

The contest ends on September 30. The top five winning films will be premiered on Pepsi MTV Indies, and get significant cash prizes. It works on the idea that 'Movie banane ke liye talent chahiye, babaji ki jooti nahi'. Viacom will flag off the engaging enterprise with its upcoming release, which celebrates the unbreakable and resilient spirit of Mary Kom.

The jury for the competition comprises Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Omung Kumar and Ajit Andhare, COO Viacom18 Motion Pictures. Talking about Cineshorts, Andhare says, "There is a need to democratize the entertainment space so that anyone with the vision, drive and talent can find an ecosystem of support and nurturing to make a film. We are certain that Cineshorts will usher in a new talent pool for the industry."

Filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali echoed the sentiment. "It's a wonderful platform. When I started off in 1994, with Khamoshi it was a very difficult process. Today's youth come out with new ways of looking at life. They bring in a new perspective and their take on a story, screenplay, edit or shot is completely different from mine. So this is an amazing opportunity for me to see what you have to offer."

Viacom18 Motion Pictures has delivered successful films such as Queen (2014), Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), Madras Café (2013), Special 26 (2013) and Kahaani (2012).
