Nickelodeon, the 'kids entertainment channel' from Viacom18's bouquet, has announced the launch of special Motu-Patlu-based merchandise. The channel will also air its fourth movie based on its popular cartoon characters on October 23, at 12:15 pm. The movie is titled 'Motu Patlu Kungfu Kings'.

This Diwali, the popular characters will embark on a crazy new adventure that involves fighting evil for the pride of Furfurinagar. The viewers will see Motu and Patlu in a "never-seen-before" avatar,with Motu turning into a kungfu master. All the action unfolds when Motu is challenged by an evil martial arts fighter named Tiger Chang in a fighting competition. Determined to protect Furfurinagar, Motu takes an oath to learn martial arts and defeat Tiger Chang.

Nina Elavia Jaipuria, EVP and business head, Kids Cluster, Viacom18, says, "Our dynamic duo Motu-Patlu have become an intrinsic part of the daily lives of children. The franchise has grown from strength to strength. It engages kids across platforms like television, movies, digital assets, and now, consumer products."

Fans of the duo will also be able to own Motu-Patlu apparel, including T-shirts, sweatshirts, games and puzzles. This merchandise is now available across leading e-commerce platforms. The collection currently includes 30 different apparel options and is priced in the range of Rs. 249 to Rs. 999.

Talking about the new range of merchandise, Saugato Bhowmik, head, consumer products, Viacom18 Media, says, "We are launching the apparel line online and we are eventually looking at extending the Motu-Patlu franchise to include products across other categories like back-to-school merchandise and stationery."

Recall that the brand recently announced a licensing deal between the Motu-Patlu franchise and Prataap Snacks, makers of edible 'yellow diamond rings'. Together, the two will launch corn rings in three flavours, masala, chilli cheese and tomato, along with Motu-Patlu toys such as spinners, charms, sling-shooters, and snakes and ladders.
