UTV Movies acquires movies from Viacom18 bouquet

UTV Movies, the Hindi movie channel from Disney India, will start airing movies from Viacom18's bouquet on December 13.

In November last year, UTV Movies donned a new vibrant avatar along with a new brand philosophy, 'Soch Mat, Seeti Maar'.

Some of the upcoming films include Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya (to be aired on December 13 at 8 pm), R... Rajkumar (to be aired on December 21 at 12pm), Mary Kom (to be aired on January 25 at 8 pm), Madras Cafe (to be aired on January 31 at 8 pm), among several others like Hasee Toh Phasee and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein.

The deal also includes some soon-to-be released, and untitled, movies, that will be aired during the course of the coming year.

Vijay Subramaniam, vice president, content and communications, Media Networks, Disney India, says, "Over the years, UTV Movies has addressed the viewer's need for entertainment through engaging content. With this deal, we will continue to engage our viewers and provide them with the content that appeals to them."

For the record, UTV Movies claims to be a 'new age Hindi movie channel' which draws on the universal passion for Bollywood. The channel is available in over 20 countries, including the US, on the Direct TV platform.
