Sakal Media Group ropes in Jwalant Swaroop as CEO
Swaroop has nearly three decades of experience of which two have been spent at Lokmat Media.
Sakal Media Group has roped in Jwalant Swaroop as the CEO for the group. He has over three decades of experience and his last assignment was as CEO, Oshoyana Consultant between August 2012 and Decmber 2014.
Swaroop has confirmed to afaqs!. He will be directly reporting to Abhijit Pawar, managing director, Sakal Media Group. Prior to Oshoyana Consultants, Swaroop was with Lokmat Media Group for nearly two decades. He worked there in different capacities such as chief operating officer; director, advertising and business development; group general manager. Before that, he was with Northern India Patrika for seven years. Swaroop has a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Allahabad, and a degree in law from the University of Nagpur.
For the record, the eight decade-old Sakal media group has both online and offline verticals. Its newspaper Sakal Times, the group claims, produces 1.5 million daily copies in Marathi, 100,000 English copies for Pune, and another 100,000 copies for bureaucrats and VIPs.
