Rohit Kumar joins Focus News

Kumar has joined as senior vice president, marketing, research and regulatory. He has nearly 15 years of experience.

Sources within the industry have confirmed that Rohit Kumar, former VP, marketing, Zee News, has moved to Focus News as senior vice president, marketing, research and regulatory.

Recall that afaqs! had reported the exit of Kumar a few days ago.

Kumar has nearly15 years of experience, out of which 12 years were spent at Zee News in different capacities. Prior to Zee Media, Kumar also worked with Aaj Tak for over two years.

At Zee Media, he was responsible for handling the planning, organising and executing activities of the brand. He was also responsible for managing Government and legal relations, and representing Zee News Media in all Ministries of India.

Kumar has won several awards such as National Media Award from Election Commission Of India, recognition in the Limca Book of Records, News Broadcasting Award 2014 and Lion's Club Award.

He was recently felicitated by the President of India for the campaign 'Art Recognises No Boundaries'. The campaign was also appreciated by UNODC for working towards the cause of drug abuse prevention.

At Zee, he conceptualised and spearheaded many social campaigns like 'My Earth My Duty', 'Aapka Vote Aapki Taaqat' and 'Clean Ganga', among others.
