Ad volumes on TV went up by 43 per cent for the Textiles/Clothing sector during April-June 2014 compared to the same period in the previous year.

Ratings agency, Television Audience Measurement (TAM) has released an overview of the advertising ad volume on different platforms by the textiles/clothing sector, between April and June 2014.

The report focuses on advertising carried out by the sector on television, print and radio. The entire analysis is based on ad volumes expressed in secondages or column centimetres. The figures should be taken only as indicative and not absolute.

According to the report, TV was the most preferred advertising medium for the sector. Eighty per cent share of overall ad insertions in the sector were on TV. The ad volumes on TV went up by 43 per cent for the sector during Q2, 2014 compared to Q2, 2013. Fifty eight per cent share of TV advertising belonged to regional channels.

The report revealed that there was an increase of 31 per cent on radio spots and 13 per cent in print during Q2, 2014. Newspapers had 95 per cent share of print advertising in the sector. The Top 2 categories - Readymade Garments and Hosiery - contributed more than 60 per cent share of ad volumes in each media platform.
