GEC Watch: Zee TV back at No. 3

Sab TV had surged ahead of the channel last week with 150 GRPs.

Zee TV, the Hindi GEC from Zee Network, has hopped back to No. 3 in week 24, according to TAM. The channel was displaced by Sab TV last week.

As per TAM data (HSM, C&S, 4+; individual), Zee TV has closed the week with 167 GRPs as compared to 147 GRPs in the previous week. Sab TV, meanwhile, concluded the week with 144 GRPs as opposed to previous week's 150 GRPs.

Star Plus continued to be the topmost channel in the genre with 241 GRPs in the week ending June 13. The channel had recorded 244 GRPs in the last week.

Colors held on to the second spot with a marginal rise in its viewership numbers. The channel grossed 210 GRPs in week 24 (last week 207 GRPs).

Life OK garnered 131 GRPs, not much change from last week's 130 GRPs.

At No. 6 is Sony Entertainment Television that clocked 119 GRPs in the week. The flagship channel from MSM had recorded 113 GRPs last week.

&TV added 10 GRPs to close the week with 68 GRPs. Here's how the free-to-air channels fared in week 24 - Zee Anmol clocked 25 GRPs (last week 32), Star Utsav recorded 22 GRPs (last week 25), Sony Pal registered 21 GRPs (last week 22) and Rishtey recorded 19 GRPs.

Big Magic, the Hindi GEC from Reliance Broadcast Network, ended the week with 17 GRPs, down from previous week's 19 GRPs.

Epic and Sahara One garnered 5 GRPs (last week 4) and 3 GRPs (last week 3 GRPs), respectively.

Top 10 shows

As per TAM data, Star Plus' 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' and 'Saathiya Saath Nibhana' were the most watched shows in the genre with 3.94 TVR and 3.83 TVR, respectively.

At No.3 is Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya' that clocked 3.66 TVR. Star Plus' 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' follows with 3.4 TVR. Colors' 'India's Got Talent' is next with 3.14 TVR.

The sixth spot is occupied by 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma', which clocked 3.05 TVR.

The next four spots are occupied by Colors' 'Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi' (3.03 TVR), 'Comedy Nights With Kapil' (2.77 TVR), 'Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat' (2.71 TVR) and 'Udaan' (2.68 TVR).
