SAB TV to launch 'Comedy Superstar'

Actors Sushmita Sen, Sonu Sood and Shekhar Suman will be the judges on the new comedy show, to be launched on August 22.

SAB TV will launch a comedy reality show called 'Comedy Superstar', with actors Sushmita Sen, Sonu Sood and Shekhar Suman as judges who will be responsible for finding the next comedy idol in India. 'Comedy Superstars' is set to launch on August 22 at 10 pm.

Hosted Jay Soni and Sudeepa Singh, the show will see aspiring comedians from different segments of the society battling it out to win the title of the country's first ever 'Comedy Superstar'. Produced by Pyramid Productions, it will identify the ultimate entertainer. Twelve contestants will be judged on the main attributes of a comedian such as good humour, the ability to entertain audiences and an exceptional personality.

The format of 'Comedy Superstar' will comprise stages such as elimination, selection and scoring. The judgment will not be open to social media or audience polling.

Its current programming mix includes shows such as 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', 'Chidiya Ghar', 'Baal Veer', 'Badi Dooooor Se Aaye Hai', 'Yam Hain Hum', 'Krishna Kanhaiya' and 'Hum Aapke Ghar Mein Rahte Hain'.
