From October 1, Zee Magic will bring French-dubbed Indian shows and movies to French-African audiences.
Zee is launching a television channel called Zee Magic for African audiences. This is a customised general entertainment channel for French audiences in Africa, showcasing French-dubbed Indian movies, serials, food, reality shows etc. The channel will be available on French Pay TV giant Canal Plus' Overseas platform from October 1, 2015.
Harish Goyal, CEO, Africas, says, "Zee Magic is a dedicated French offering from ZEEL for Francophone Africa. All content has undergone extensive research, and we are very excited to be the first to offer Bollywood in French to our viewers."
This comes after ZEEL launched Zee World, an English general entertainment channel showcasing Indian content, for viewers in Sub Saharan Africa early this year.
With over 36 international channels across 169 countries, ZEEL first ventured into Africa 19 years ago in what was the brand's first international territory. The flagship channel Zee TV has been present on the DSTV platform since 1996 and on Canal Plus since 2006.
Among the offerings are series like 'Kasamh Se', 'Punar Vivah' and 'Pavitra Rishta' re-christened as 'La Promesse', 'Remariage' and 'Lien Sacre', respectively.
