'Fakebook with Kavita' to be simulcast on Big Magic and Big FM

The 'satirical comedy' features popular television actor Kavita Kaushik.

Reliance Broadcast Network's Hindi general entertainment channel, Big Magic, and the group's radio network, 92.7 Big FM, are set to launch an integrated show titled 'Fakebook with Kavita'. The satire-based show features television actor Kavita Kaushik.

A statement says that the show, which will be aired on television and radio - a first in the industry - is a 'fresh take' on the 'hypocrisy in Indian society', and focusses on topical issues with a pinch of humour.

'Fakebook with Kavita' premieres on October 19 at 9 pm - airing on Monday and Tuesday on BIG Magic from 9 pm to 9.30 pm, and Monday to Thursday on Big FM from 9 to 10 pm. Radio will see more airings as only 15 minutes of the show will be featured each day and those will be interspersed with songs.

The official statement says, "In line with the programming strategy, the content will be sarcastic, irreverent, relatable and cutting edge." Kaushik, a regular on comedy shows, will be seen playing characters based on various situations.

Bimal Unnikrishnan, creative director, Big Magic, says, "We are introducing a genre - satirical comedy - which has not been explored much on the small screen. 'Fakebook with Kavita' is a light-hearted, relatable, satirical comedy series with a fresh take on the hypocritical Indian society. We are excited to launch our first integrated show which will enthrall viewers of Big Magic as well as listeners of 92.7 Big FM, thus enhancing the reach of the show across India."

About the show, Kaushik says, "I am glad to be associated with this unique show. Audiences will see me discussing real life issues and topical situations with lots of humour. Looking at the scenario today, I genuinely believe that a show of this nature is much needed, and this is the perfect time to launch it."

Going forward the network plans to launch most of its shows in an integrated manner. Another new offering in the pipeline is 'Comedy Ka Rocket', which is also a sketch format,.This one will have spoofs, song parodies, mimicry, candid content, stand-up acts, dances and fun interactions with celebrities.With the festive season approaching, the first few episodes of 'Comedy Ka Rocket' ill air on Fridays, starting with specials on Dussehra (23rd October), Indian weddings (30th October) and Diwali (6th November) on BIG Magic at 9 pm, and every Sunday at 12 pm on 92.7 BIG FM.
