HT Media launches Radio Nasha 107.2 FM

This is the company's second radio channel launched after Fever FM in 2006.

HT Media has launched its second radio station, Radio Nasha 107.2 FM, in Delhi. Radio Nasha will be a retro station which will only play Bollywood music of the '70s, '80s and '90s. The launch of Radio Nasha 107.2 FM in Delhi is the first of the phase III radio launches from HT Media, which acquired 10 new frequencies across Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and the state of Uttar Pradesh, during the phase III auctions.

According to company sources, the new station garnered a lot of appreciation on social media during its test transmission that started on February 26, 2016. With the launch of Radio Nasha 107.2 FM in Delhi, HT Media will be the only company in India operating two stations in the capital. The company had previously launched Fever FM in October, 2006.

Harshad Jain, CEO - radio and entertainment, HT Media, says, 'There is no radio station currently that does justice to the excitement, romance and attitude of the magical era of the 1970s-1990s. Radio Nasha 107.2 FM will be the first-ever radio station packed with passion, fuelled by Bollywood celebrities, and driven by RJs with a style that will be young, energetic and classy. Radio Nasha will make retro 'cool' and create a station that will be a destination station for listeners. We look forward to delight listeners with innovative content that will be an industry-first on radio.'

The company plans to segment the radio-listening market into two distinct spaces - Radio Nasha 107.2 FM that will play retro music, and the existing Fever 104 FM that plays contemporary Bollywood music. The two differentiated radio stations will provide advertisers a choice of two different sets of audiences.

HT Media operates Fever FM, a radio station, across the five metros of Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. The FM channel enjoys a strong position in Delhi, Bengaluru (non-Kannada space) and Kolkata, and is growing in Mumbai. With the launch of Radio Nasha 107.2 FM, HT Media has initiated its radio expansion and will soon operate 15 stations, across 13 cities.

HT Media was launched in 1924. It publishes Hindustan Times (the English daily), Hindustan (the Hindi newspaper, through the subsidiary Hindustan Media Ventures), and the national business newspaper Mint. The company, in a consulting partnership with Virgin Radio, runs the FM radio channel Fever 104. Internet businesses of HT Media, incorporated under Firefly e-ventures, operate portals such as Hindustantimes.com, Livemint.com, Shine.com, Desimartini.com, and www.HTCampus.com.
