Zee Media makes new appointments at DNA

The company has appointed Rohit Gandhi as editor-in-chief of the English mainline daily; Shreyasi Goenka takes over as content advisor of the publication

Zee Media Corporation Limited (ZMCL) has announced the appointment of Rohit Gandhi as the new editor-in-chief of DNA, its English mainline daily. Prior to this, Gandhi was editor-in-chief of ZMCL's English News Channel WION.

Shreyasi Goenka, who has been mentoring the content at DNA, will now take over as content advisor and will guide all functions of DNA.

Uday Nirgudkar, who was heading DNA along with Zee 24 Taas, will now continue to lead Zee 24 Taas as its business head.

Talking about the publication's objectives, Goenka says, "Since its launch in 2005, DNA has become the preferred choice for India's young and dynamic readers. We have been continuously innovating with offerings like 'I Am IN - dna of India', a technology-enabled initiative, that promises to enlighten, engage and empower citizens of India to get involved in the cause for better governance. We are confident that this new seamless organisational structure will bring in fresh insights and views, and help us leverage resources more effectively in order to maximise our market potential."

Speaking on his new appointment, Gandhi says, "We are moving to expand our coverage and subsequently the editions of DNA. It is a great opportunity for us to bring more textured content from all parts of India to give our readers a far deeper understanding of India and the world. I look forward to work with Goenka to build an insightful newspaper."

The new appointments came into effect from April 7, with Gandhi at the helm of all editorial functions.

Zee Media Corporation Limited (formerly Zee News) is a news network comprising of DNA, digital properties, and 10 television channels. The TV channels include the national channels Zee News (Hindi News), Zee Business (Hindi Business News), and India 24x7 (Hindi News), as well as several regional news channels.
