SonyLIV set to air Spanish LaLiga and Italian Serie A matches

The OTT platform will provide viewers with 20 action-packed games every weekend starting Aug 26.

Exciting times are ahead for football fans as the football season for Spanish LaLiga and Italian Serie A League tournaments are set to kick-off this weekend. SonyLIV, an OTT (over-the-top) platform, will broadcast all matches from both Leagues on its web and mobile platforms from August 26.

Spanish LaLiga is one of the biggest and popular football League tournaments around the world. Italian Serie A, on the other hand, is also known to be an extremely competitive League tournament.

Uday Sodhi, executive vice-president and head, digital business, Sony Pictures Networks India, says in a press release, "LaLiga and Serie A are, without a doubt, two of the most popular football League tournaments in the world. Clubs from these Leagues also have massive support among Indian viewers, which is why we decided to broadcast all the matches through our platform."

He adds, "This will allow SonyLIV's large and growing viewership to watch any League match from Serie A or La Liga seamlessly and on-the-go, enhancing their access to the high-intensity football on action."
