LV Navaneeth returns to The Hindu; joins as CEO

He will take over on June 1, from incumbent CEO and MD Rajiv C. Lochan.

As announced by N Ram, chairman, The Hindu Group Publishing, in a press release, the company has appointed LV Navaneeth as its new chief executive officer.

The appointment is effective from June 1, 2019. He will take over from outgoing CEO and managing director Rajiv C. Lochan, who has decided to move on. Navaneeth has worked with the organisation in the past, between 1998 and 2006, in a senior role in the marketing and advertising team.

In his statement about the leadership change, Ram welcomes the new CEO on behalf of the Board of Directors of THG Publishing, the publishers of The Hindu and other Group publications. Dubbing Navaneeth's return to the publication a “homecoming”, Ram adds in his statement, “... Going on to get a diverse media experience in radio, television, media planning and buying, and digital advertising, he brings with him the expertise and hands-on experience to play an effective leadership role in the Company in the face of far-reaching changes and challenges in the media landscape and in an increasingly interconnected digital ecosystem...”.

Navaneeth has two decades of experience in the media industry across the publishing, radio and broadcast sectors. He currently is based in Jakarta and works with Mindshare as leader of trading. Before moving abroad around three years back, he led the programming team at Sun TV Network as vice president from September 2009-2015 . He has also worked with Radio One as station director and head of programming from August 2006-2009.
