Six-year-old Mumbai-based company, MA Advertising has won the rights to wall branding on Mumbai's railway lines.
MA Advertising now has sole rights for Central and Harbour and bulk rights on the Western lines.
Ankkit H Dabhi, proprietor, MA Advertising says, "We have the sole right to display on both sides of the railway track walls. In this case, an advertiser has to pay the display rent and painting charges. Our contract with the Indian Railways is for 36 months and is subject to extension after three years by the authorities."
He informs that the other contenders for these properties were Big Solution, Pushkar Ad Mark, Suvarna Advertising, Dinesh Advertising, AD Link and Jay Bhavani Art. MA Advertising won the bid by a margin of Rs 38,050.
Dabhi says, "Everyday, 1.5 lakh people travel by train. And it is no news that trains are, in fact, the lifeline of Mumbai. With these walls, a client can cover audiences from CST to Kalyan."
He shares that the basic rental cost is an affordable Rs 1,500 per display per month, for each display of 20ft X 5ft. Added to this are costs of painting, which is approximately Rs 500 per display.
Dabhi had set up MA Advertising in 2004 as a local cable advertiser and has been providing outdoor solutions for the last three years. The agency has sole rights to BEST Undertaking's Relief Shelter Sites in Mumbai. It also offers clients hoarding sites and foot-over-bridges amongst other properties. The agency has worked with brands such as Loop Mobile, Fastrack, HCL, JK White Cement, Amul Macho and Speakwell Enterprises.
