The agreement will come into effect once Terminal 2 is operational. The agency will install 660 media sites at the airport. Speaking to afaqs! after winning the contract, Sunder Hemrajani, MD, Times Innovative Multimedia, says, "Bagging the advertising rights of Terminal 2 at Mumbai Airport is like taking a great leap. In the past, we have won the contract for Delhi Airport for 20 years. Now, we have Mumbai Airport. This will surely benefit both brands and the consumers and help us improve the quality."

Times OOH already owned 242 media units at Mumbai Airport before this deal.

Rajeev Jain, CEO, Mumbai International Airport, says, "GVK CSIA is one of the busiest airports in the country and indeed an international gateway to India. This allows for the otherwise elusive opportunity for advertisers to target not just the itinerant Indian, but global audiences as well. We have been working closely with TIM over the last five years to make GVK CSIA a hot spot for advertising in India. We are confident that with its expertise, TIM will create an experience for advertisers and passengers at par with the best in the world."

It is expected that more than 40 million domestic as well as international passengers will transit through Terminal 2 every year. Times OOH estimates that nearly 90 per cent of these travellers will belong to the premium segment (SEC AB).

The international operations at the GVK CSIA Terminal 2 are slated to begin by the end of 2013, while the domestic operations will take some more time.

Times OOH is a brand of Times Innovative Media, which is a subsidiary of Times Infotainment. It owns properties in Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad and New Delhi.
