YouTube has released a list of the top ten ads Indians watched between January and March this year. The team calls it the 'India YouTube Ads Leaderboard'.
As YouTube specifies in a press note, this list represents ads that performed well "through a combination of popularity and promotion."
The numero uno spot was claimed by Bingo!'s 'Original Style - Light & Tasty Chips' ad film, followed by Asian Paint's 'Ultima Protek - Raag Malhar' and ICICI Direct's 'All you need to do is take a pledge to invest wisely' ads, respectively.
Nissan India secured two spots on the list; at No.5 is its ad titled 'An Unexpected Visitor on the Pitch' and at No.10 is its ad titled 'Legendary Precision Salutes India #OMGTR'.
According to YouTube India, when combined, the top ten advertisements clocked a total of 3.25 lakh hours of watch time, with 2.9 million cumulative views - an 80 per cent increase from the third quarter of 2016.
Four of the top 10 ads garnered 95 per cent views on the mobile platform.
Interestingly, every month, 180 million Indians are watching YouTube videos on the mobile platform alone and watch time on mobile is growing by 400 per cent year on year. Around 80 per cent of YouTube's watch time in India comes from mobile devices.
