vdonxt awards 2019: 37 Metals, 14 Categories, 4 Gold... what a show!

The Quint swept the awards with a total of 10 awards - of which 4 are Gold. Read on for details.

The highly anticipated 3rd edition of vdonxt awards, which took place at a glittering ceremony last evening in Mumbai, saw a spurt in participation by ad agencies, marketers, online publishers and content creators. vdonxt awards recognise the best work in digital video; this time, there were 14 categories which include, Brand Video, Brand Integration, Social Awareness, Music Video, Virtual/Augmented Reality, Drama, Gadgets and Auto, Documentary, Most Innovative Use of Social Media, Comedy, Animation, News & Features, Do-It-Yourself, and Lifestyle.

Serial entrepreneur Raghav Bahl's digital publication The Quint fared exceptionally well; the team received one award after the other. In all, The Quint won 10 metals. These include four Gold and six Bronze awards - Two Golds in the 'Documentary' category for its Mewat Meo Muslims Turn the Scars of Lynching into Haunting Songs and Living With the Horrors of the Anti-Sikh Riots. The other two golds are in the 'News and Features' category for its Mumbai's Women Drummers: This Festive Season, Watch Women Beat Stereotypes and The Badass Women Photojournalists of Kashmir.

In the 'Comedy' category there was only one Gold awarded by the jury - iDiva's Types of South Delhi Girls Part 3 bagged the coveted metal. Among the many entrants in the 'Brand Integration' category, Motion Content Group's Rushes bagged the Gold. In the 'Brand Video' category Paisa Vasool Insurance Campaign for Acko General Insurance by BBH India fetched advertising agency BBH India a Gold. The last Gold metal of the night went to creative agency ADK-Fortune for its entry in the 'Social Awareness' category #ShutThePhoneUp.

In the 3rd edition of vdonxt awards a total of 37 metals were awarded. The awards night was attended by the who's who of the media, entertainment and marketing ecosystem. Popular stand-up comedian Anirban Dasgupta entertained the audience with his humorous jokes.

This year, vdonxt awards grew in terms of both the number of entries and participating companies. The number of categories was also increased from eight (last year) to 14 this time.
