Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), has announced that Subhankar Sen has taken over as director (marketing) of the company. Sen, a veteran of BPCL with over three decades of experience, has played a pivotal role in driving strategic transformation across key business verticals.
Over the years, Sen has held several key leadership positions at BPCL, including his role as Business Head – Retail (West), where he led a significant revamp of the company’s retail operations across fuel stations. During this tenure, he introduced new-age retail formats and strengthened customer engagement through digital-first initiatives. He has also played an instrumental role in developing and executing several brand and loyalty programs such as Pure for Sure, Speed, PetroBonus, SmartFleet, BPCL-SBI Card, In&Out Stores, and UFill. His work has extended across strategic collaborations with sectors including banking, retail, QSR, and automotive, contributing to BPCL’s wider consumer outreach and brand positioning.
In his previous role as Oil Industry coordinator, Sen was involved in initiatives aligned with the Government of India’s clean mobility objectives. He played a role in the introduction of Doorstep Diesel Delivery and led BPCL’s eDrive initiative, which focuses on establishing EV fast-charging infrastructure across the country.
