Linda Yaccarino has resigned from her position as Chief Executive Officer of X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Her departure comes just over two years after she was appointed to the role.
Yaccarino joined X in June 2023, following her tenure at NBCUniversal, where she led global advertising and partnerships. At X, she was tasked with stabilising relationships with advertisers and overseeing business operations during a period of transition under Elon Musk’s ownership.
During her time at the company, Yaccarino introduced initiatives aimed at improving brand safety and expanding monetisation tools. She also played a role in content partnerships and early efforts around integrating payments and original programming.
Her exit follows reports of differences in strategic direction, particularly related to the platform’s growing focus on artificial intelligence and subscription-based services. The company has not yet announced a successor.
X has undergone several leadership and structural changes since Musk’s acquisition in late 2022. Yaccarino’s departure marks another development in the platform’s ongoing transformation.
