E-commerce major Amazon India is entering the country’s at-home diagnostics space in partnership with Orange Health Labs, a diagnostic provider.
Amazon Diagnostics will initially be available across Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, and Hyderabad where customers can get doorstep sample collection in under 60 minutes and digital reports in as little as six hours for routine tests.
On its website, Amazon India writes its at-home diagnostics foray intends to alleviate challenges such as long wait times, inconsistent quality of service, and accessibility gaps.
"Amazon Diagnostics represents a significant step forward in making healthcare more accessible, reliable and convenient for all our customers,” Jayaramakrishnan Balasubramanian, category leader, Amazon Medical, was quoted as saying.
“Our engagement with an accredited service provider like Orange Health guarantees diagnostic excellence, while Amazon’s operational expertise ensures speed, reliability, and trust,” added Balasubramanian.
Dhruv Gupta, co-founder, Orange Health Labs, said, “Partnering with them (Amazon) affirms the trust Orange Health has earned in less than five years. Together with Amazon, we will keep raising the bar, delivering an even faster, reliable, and insightful diagnostics experience for people across India.”
With this launch, Amazon customers will now get access to complete end-to-end healthcare services, spanning tele-consultation, delivery of medicines, and accredited testing, all under Amazon Medical.
Under Amazon Medical, there is Amazon Pharmacy where customers get access to a wide range of prescription medications and healthcare essentials, along with a free telemedicine consultation service and delivery benefits for Prime and non-Prime members. Amazon Clinic enables customers to consult licensed doctors for a range of primary healthcare needs through a seamless digital experience.
