He will work on the Procter & Gamble account across several markets.
Malkani has spent over four years at Grey, heading the Mumbai creative department. He was appointed as executive creative director in 2009. "This was an easy decision to make," he tells afaqs! about his appointment at Publicis Singapore. The move, he says, is one that will take him towards all that is "bigger and better."
Interestingly, Malkani, who calls his stint at Grey nothing short of "fantastic", has worked with Publicis Ambience in the past, so has a sense of the familiar while venturing into a new market.
An English (Hons) graduate from St. Xavier's College Kolkata, Malkani has 17 years of industry experience. Before joining Grey, he worked at Bates on the Virgin Mobile account. Other agencies he has worked at include JWT, Publicis Ambience and Planetasia.com. While he has handled regional brands during this time, it is only now that he will be in-charge of handling brands across markets.
"I am looking forward to the experience and am keen to understand the cultural differences across markets," he says about his new role.
