Lok Sabha TV's Rajiv Mishra joins Samsung as VP, Media

Mishra will oversee the entire media mandate for the company.

Samsung Electronics has appointed Rajiv Mishra as vice president, media. He will be responsible for overseeing the entire media mandate for the organisation across the country. Prior to this, he was associated with Lok Sabha TV as chief operating officer.

Mishra's career spans over 22 years during which he has held several leadership positions. At Lok Sabha TV, he led the overall functions of the channel including marketing, sales, distribution, producing, hosting and telecasting a complete array of programmes of general interest on issues relating to democracy, governance, social, economic and constitutional issues as well as citizens' concerns.

He has worked for leading media companies like the Hindustan Times, Star TV, TV Asia of USA, BAG Films & Media. He is also a nominated member of various media advisory bodies in various ministries of the Government of India.

The founder and first president of Association of Radio Operators for India (AROI), he is also the first president of Association of Regional Television Broadcasters of India (ARTBI), the industry representative body of regional Broadcasters of India. He has recently been nominated as member, expert committee of Information & Broadcasting Ministry to develop papers on copyright issues.

Samsung Electronics makes TVs, smartphones, tablets, PCs, cameras, home appliances, printers, LTE systems, medical devices, semiconductors and LED solutions. Present in 80 countries, it has 286,000 employees and annual sales of $216.7 billion.
