Viu's Sameer Gogate to join BBC Worldwide

Gogate had joined Vuclip's video on demand platform in 2017.

Sameer Gogate, vice-president business development at Vuclip Inc’s video on demand platform Viu has resigned and will join BBC Worldwide. As per a source close to the development, Gogate is currently serving his notice period and will join BBC next month.

BBC Worldwide is a subsidiary of BBC, responsible for monetising BBC brands, selling BBC and other British programming for broadcast abroad.

BBC Worldwide was unavailable for comment but industry sources suggest a formal announcement is expected early next week.

Gogate joined Viu in 2017 as head monetisation, commercial & distribution and in 2018 he was promoted to vice-president - business development. Before joining Viu, he was the chief development officer at Eros international. He has over 16 years of professional experience.
