The Indian Express Group’s pioneering initiative on entertainment, luxury, art, cinema & lifestyle broadly categorised as ‘EXPRESSO on Culture’ has concluded its 6th edition and 7th edition is scheduled for July 18, 2025. It is a digital first property which is redefining how Indian audiences are engaging with curated conversations.

Launched in April 2024, ‘EXPRESSO on Culture’ is envisioned to bring nuanced conversations to niche audiences. Over a course of its six editions, the platform has witnessed a remarkable 1112% increase in digital footprint, evolving into a cultural touchstone within a year. From its first edition that garnered 0.6 million impressions to the sixth edition achieving 8 million and counting, the cumulative reach of EXPRESSO now stands an impressive 32 millions impressions- a testament to its scale, reach and relevance.

Keeping Express’s long-standing editorial commitment to in-depth and credible stroytelling that has been shaping the country’s discourse since 1932. In media ecosystem often driven by trends, EXPRESSO instead anchors itself in thoughtful, intelligent & meaningful dialogue with voices that are shaping India’s creative landscape. A platform for artists- actors, filmmakers to personalities shaping Indian & global culture.

A distinguishing feature of this initiative, unlike conventional entertainment platforms, ‘EXPRESSO on Culture’ adheres to hybrid format - a live event, followed by editorial spread in the Sunday EYE, the weekend supplement of The Indian Express & streaming of video conversation on its website & youtube channel.

What further sets EXPRESSO apart from any other conversation series is its emphasis on substance over spectacle. In age of infobesity, The Indian Express’s EXPRESSO offers depth, originality and diversity. With growing appetite for niche and eclectic content, The Indian Express’s new format has struck a chord with culture- savvy audiences, as well as names who have found in it a platform worthy of their voice.

The scale of production, quality of guests during live event, and multi-platform execution have elevated it far beyond a regular digital interview format — making it a flagship cultural IP of national stature.

With each edition, EXPRESSO brings together India’s brightest cultural figures, reaches millions of viewers, and creates a lasting editorial and visual imprint - capturing a moment, a mood, a movement. Notable actors like Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kajol, Kriti Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi, Pratik Gandhi, Randeep Hooda & filmmakers like Imtiaz Ali, Zoya Akhtar, Hansal Mehta & writer Javed Akhtar have been guest speakers.

A journey of a year has been possible with the unwavering & immeasurable support of our presenting sponsor HSBC & supported by Taj hotels- IHCL.

The Indian Express ‘EXPRESSO on Culture’ stands as a beacon of what’s possible when strategic vision meets innovation.
