eBay announces Rajan Mehra as Country Manager, eBay India

MUMBAI, December 19

eBay India, India' s leading online marketplace, today announced the appointment of Rajan Mehra as the Country Manager, eBay India with effect from January 1, 2007. In his new role, Rajan Mehra will lead the entire eBay Portfolio in India, including the eBay India Marketplace, the eBay India Motors Marketplace, the Kijiji classifieds website & PaisaPay, eBay India 's secure online payment gateway.

Speaking on the announcement, Rajan Mehra, Country Manager, eBay India , said, " I am delighted to take on my new role to steer eBay India and its talented team. I look forward to growing our strong vibrant India business & sustaining eBay ' s leadership in ecommerce in India."

Previously, eBay India had two Country Managers. Gautam Thakar was Country Manager - eBay India Marketplace together with Rajan Mehra who was the Country Manager - Payments & New Ventures of eBay India.

A member of eBay's Asia Pacific Leadership team, Rajan Mehra was responsible for the strategy, incubation & management of the new business initiatives at eBay India. Amongst Rajan's many accomplishments, was conceptualizing and building a successful nationwide B2B Motors business - eBay India Motors Marketplace.

W.e.f.January 1, 2007, Gautam Thakar, formerly Country Manager, eBay India Marketplace has been selected by eBay to take on the role of Senior Director, International Marketing, eBay. Gautam ' s new responsibilities will include coordinating eBay 's marketing efforts across its 32 international markets & and driving global trade between the eBay sites. Gautam will be a member of the International leadership team & the Global Brand Council and will report to Lorrie Norrington, President of eBay International.

Gautam Thakar said, "I am delighted to take on the opportunity to contribute to eBay globally and to work across markets."
