Ford India launches a feature-rich 2007 Ikon

Ford India today introduced the striking new 2007 Ikon loaded with plush new interiors and new stylish exterior enhancements for young icons.

With an attractive price tag of Rs 4, 75,900 (ex-showroom, New Delhi and Hyderabad) the 2007 Ikon introduces a brand new colour - Jeans Blue to its range to offer consumers more choice.

A car specially designed and manufactured for India by Ford, the 2007 Ikon offers spirited performance with distinctive styling.

The 2007 Ikon will offer customers:

Plush beige and dark parchment interiors

Matching seat fabric and trims

New instrument cluster graphic

Recognizing customers' desire to individualize their vehicles, Ford India will also offer young icons exciting enhancements at an additional cost of Rs 35, 000 to include features such as:

Rear spoiler

Sporty alloy wheels

Sporty seat covers

Anti-theft alarm

Chrome decklid handle

Chrome exhaust trim

Unveiling the new 2007 Ikon in Hyderabad, Tarun Khanna, general manager, Marketing and Product Planning, Ford India said, ''The new 2007 Ikon, is stylish. The new Jeans Blue colour is especially conceptualized to meet the young icons' need to stand out and enjoy the product for its performance, styling and luxury, all at an irresistibly affordable price.''

''The Ford Ikon continues to be a popular and a leading model in the high growth mid-size segment and continuous product innovations and freshening based on customer feedback has ensured its growing popularity and appeal, he adds.''

In addition to the Jeans Blue, the new Ikon will available in a variety of electrifying colours such as Papkrika Red, Moondust Silver, Diamond White, Panther Black Platinum and Jewel Violet.

This new edition of the Ikon is designed to garner the attention of young icons keen on buying a world class stylish sedan. The Ikon customer is a 25 to 30 year old aspiring individual, typically employed in the knowledge sector. He is progressive and passionate, spirited and young at heart looking to 'Live Life with Josh'.

The Ford Ikon, launched in 1999, is one of Ford India's largest selling models. Ford has constantly kept the Ikon fresh and contemporary by launching new variants to meet the Indian consumer's changing needs. In 2006, Ford India introduced the Ikon CNG, a dual-fuel variant that can run both on petrol and Compressed Natural Gas . The Ikon CNG is currently available in Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Baroda and Ahmedabad.
