Videocon launches Khel Ke Dekho offer

The Rs 5,500-cr consumer durables major Videocon International Limited launched a unique scheme - the Videocon Khel Ke Dekho offer for its consumers in anticipation of the ICC World Cup Cricket at a press conference today. In this scheme a cricket -bat shaped scratch card will be given to the customer on purchase of any Videocon product. On scratching the card, the buyer will be able to score runs which will entitle him to win wonderful gifts ranging from plasma TVs to projection TVs, VCD players etc.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. PN Dhoot, President, Videocon International Limited said, "For Videocon, consumer has always been king and it has always been our endeavor to give the very best to them. The Videocon Khel ke Dekho offer will ensure that no one goes home empty-handed. Consumers can win prizes galore since we are spending about Rs 90 crore for the same."

Consumers can have a merry time shopping for Videocon products and scoring runs! The scratch card will have the following denominations: one run, 2 runs, 4 runs, 6 runs, 100 runs and match won. Depending on the runs he scores the consumer will stand to win a VCD/MP3 player worth Rs 3990 with every run, a VCD/MP3 player with speakers worth Rs 4990 for 2 runs, a 5-in-1 player worth Rs 5990 for 4 runs.

Hitting a sixer on the scratch card will have the consumer winning a DVD player worth Rs 9990. A projection TV worth Rs one and a half lakh will fall into the consumers hands on scoring 100 runs. On getting match won a plasma TV worth Rs 4 lakh will be won by the consumer! Thus the consumer is guaranteed of a VCD MP3 player worth Rs 3990, at least!

The Khel Ke Dekho Scheme will run till March 3, 2003.

According to Mr Dhoot, "Cricket is a national passion transcending all boundaries. The World Cup offers us the best opportunity to drive sales as well as build our brand. Infact, we expect sales of CTVs to touch about three lakh units."
