Showcasing its status as India's largest automobile manufacturer, Tata Motors today unveiled the Indigo Marina - a premium estate car with international styling and appeal; a sporty new look Indica V2 and a new range of passenger buses for urban and inter-city transport.
Mr. Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Motors unveiled the new product range on the inaugural day of the Auto Expo 2004 in New Delhi.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Tata said: "Our new offerings across the passenger car and commercial vehicle segments on display at the Auto Expo 2004 showcase our product development capabilities. The Company is confident of retaining its leadership in the commercial vehicle industry and of consolidating its growing presence in the passenger car business. We
will also be expanding our horizons beyond the shores of India".
Indigo Marina is an indigenously developed new product with a premium lifestyle appeal and great space with the potential to be yet another popular offering from Tata Motors. The car is set to be launched in the next few months and will be available in both petrol and diesel versions.
The new Indica V2 has been given a fresh new look to appeal to the changing tastes of the Indian car buyer. The exterior wears a sporty look while the interiors have been refurbished to make the car more contemporary and give it a premium look. Available in many new colours the new look Indica V2 will be available for immediate sale.
The new range of buses unveiled by Tata Motors today include inter-city, intracity and custom-built buses that offer new standards in luxury, comfort and safety. The showpiece amongst the new bus range is a high capacity ultra low floor CNG bus designed for high density dedicated bus corridors - fitted with state-of-the-art features including GPS, automatic ticketing, passenger communication systems and electronic destination boards, a pneumatic deployed ramp ensuring easy access for disabled passengers and senior citizens.
Tata Motors also showcased the concept van Indiva, which was displayed at the Geneva Auto Show in 2002, which will provide design cues for future product offerings. The new range is in tune with Tata Motors' event theme "Leading the Future" and symbolizes the Company's intent of consistently innovating its product offerings to cater to the growing passenger and freight transportation requirements of a rapidly developing nation.
